Sarnia Defeats London 8-4 at Labatt Park
Game Report: Sarnia 8-4 London

The Sarnia Brigade got back to league play after a week hiatus and defeated the London Badgers at Labatt Park on Tuesday night. The win moves Sarnia to 4-1 in the Southwestern League.

Sarnia would take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Keegan Brandon put a shot to the right-center wall that scored Wesley Brooks.

But, London would start off hot against pitcher Noah Lester and their first four hitters of the game would reach base and score. It was 4-1 for London after one inning of play. Lester would settle in after that, holding London off the board before handing the ball over to Logan Buntrock. Buntrock would throw four innings of two-hit baseball, allowing the offense to get the Brigade back in the game.

In the fifth, Logan Klompstra led things off with a single to center which seemed to spark a rally. Brad Hill was then hit bit a pitch, which was followed by a Brooks RBI single, a Brandon two-RBI single, and a Tristan Buntrock RBI single to give Sarnia the lead 5-4 into the bottom of the inning.

Hill, Brooks and Brandon would again reach base in the sixth with Vince Caschera cashing a run with a SAC-fly to center. It stayed 6-4 for Sarnia into the eighth inning with Klompstra taking the ball from Buntrock in his first career save situation.

The Brigade would add two insurance runs in the top of the ninth. Lester singled to start the frame. Brady Pepper then came to the plate and roped an RBI triple into the left field corner. He would later score. Klompstra would shut things down in the bottom of the ninth for his first career save. It was Logon Buntrock's first career win.

Sarnia hosts the Corunna Jr Giants in exhibition action tonight at Errol Russell Park. Game time is set for 7:30pm
