Braves Back on the Field
(Sarnia, ON) There was no box score indicating a winner, in fact, there was no opponent on the field. And yet, for our twelve young boys and four coaches, Monday night was a victory. The boys gathered together for the first time since our last indoor practice on March 8th, exactly 155 days ago.
While everything felt new for the coaching staff and the players as we implemented Baseball Ontario and the City of Sarnia's COVID measures. Some things felt exactly the same: the boys got in a bit of conditioning work, threw some baseballs, and ran the bases. Other things were new such as baseball without sunflower seeds or high fives. At the end of the day, it felt good for everybody to feel the grass under their feet.
Practices will continue through the month of August on Monday and Thursdays. Tryouts for the 2021 team will be held following the September long weekend: information will be updated on this page as soon as it becomes available.
