Good morning Brigade baseball fans,
An email has been sent with tryout news and updates but just wanted to pass on some additional information for those new to the organization, and what to expect during tryouts/in-season.
⚾ Tryout Schedule
Tryout #1 – Tues, Sept 9 | 6–8pm @Clearwater Park Diamond #3
Tryout #2 – Thur, Sept 11 | 6–8pm @ Clearwater Park Diamond #1
Tryout #3 – Tues, Sept 16 | 6–8pm @ Clearwater Park Diamond #2
Please arrive 15 mins prior to at minimum to receive a name tag, begin warm-ups and be ready to go for 6pm.
* Note, the pitching machine will only be used for tryouts #2 & #3, and groups may be split into two 1-hour sessions for tryout #2 - stay tuned *
📝 Roster Announcements
- Initial roster: After Tryout #2 (morning of Sept 12 via Sarnia Brigade website)
- Final roster: Wednesday, Sept. 17
🔍 Evaluation Criteria
- Skills: Fielding, throwing (accuracy & strength), hitting, baserunning
- Soft skills: Coachability, attitude, hustle, teamwork
🧢 What to Bring
- Protective cup, baseball pants, cleats, cap, bat, helmet, glove, water bottle
- Note: there will be a few helmets and team bats available for use during tryouts for those who don't own one
📅 Season Expectations
- Indoor training starts Jan 2025 (subject to start earlier per recent announcements)
- 40–50 games Apr–Sept 2026 as part of WCBA (Western Counties) & LDBA (London & District)
- 4–5 tournaments (1–2 overnight), including Provincials the weekend before Labour Day
