Who was Stan Slack?
Stan, who was the unofficial patriarch of the Sarnia Braves Minor Baseball Organization, passed away on June 12, 2013. He is believed to be one of the youngest professional baseball players ever, having signed a contract with the St. Louis Cardinals when he was just 14.

He played nine minor-league seasons with the Cardinals and Milwaukee Braves, and was once a teammate of Hank Aaron.The first use of the Braves moniker was in 1956. Stan was the playing coach of the Senior team. Stan was also one of the founders of the current Braves organization in 1994.
