We are now asking families to signup for volunteer slots.
Hello Braves’ families: We are once again hosting the Stan Slack Wood Bat Midget tournament. This year the tournament is taking place July 12th to the 14th. This tournament is one of the reasons the volunteer program exists as the tournament needs many hands to run smoothly. The executives and staff have been working up to this point to organize the tournament and we are now in need of families to select ways that they can contribute.
Pitch count, scorekeeper, concessions and bbq’er are all positions that need to be filled. We also need a convener for each park (Blackwell and Errol Russell) to conduct a coin toss and give out baseballs.
We use a website called signup.com to organize the volunteers. Each slot is 3 hours long and families are asked to commit to 6 hours of volunteer hours. Please make sure that you enter the player’s name and team that the family member is volunteering on behalf of. If the volunteer is a high school student, hours can be given for their time as well.
NOTE: We are hoping for clear skies and great baseball weather for the tournament. However, the volunteer schedule may be adjusted to accommodate schedule changes to the games if delays happen. Keep an eye on www.sarniabraves.ca for tournament updates.
