Calling all Umpires!!
All those aged 12+ who are interested in becoming umpires will need to register for the Ontario Baseball Clinic coming up.

The clinic will certify both Level 1 and 2 umpires. If you're new to umpiring, this is the clinic for you.

It will be held on April 26th at Lambton College. Specific directions will be given to those who register online.

To pre-register, go to www.baseballontario.com/umpires and create a new profile under 'online forms'.
If you are a returning umpire, click on 'view my profile'.

Morning registration on April 26th is at 08:30am with the clinic starting at 9am. It is expected to run until 3:30pm and you must remain the entire day to become certified.

The cost is $40.

Now here is where the interesting part starts!

If you are a current Braves player and are 12 yrs or older, the organization can pay for the course!  Sign up and complete the course to become certified (you initially pay $40). Then, during the season, umpire at least 4 Braves' games. If you do, tell your coach that you've done 4 games and the Braves organization will repay the $40 it cost to take the course!

SMAA umpire??? Register for the course and become OBA (Ontario Baseball Association) certified in addition to SMAA certified. Then, umpire at least 4 Braves OBA games. When you do, tell your umpire assignor (Terry or Tyler) that you've completed 4 Braves games. The Sarnia Braves Minor Baseball Association will reimburse you $20 towards the cost of the initial course!

*NOTE: We have budgeted for a certain amount for the pilot program. If the response outweighs the budgeted amount, a draw will occur for reimbursement.
