The 14u Sarnia Brigade won the London Badgers Tournament this weekend. Friday night Sarnia beat Halton Hills 12-2. Saturday morning they ran into a tough Brantford team and lost a tight one 5-4. The bats came back to life Saturday afternoon with a 12-3 win over Mississauga.
Earning the 4th semi-final spot with the best runs against per defensive innings average Sarnia then faced the number 1 seed Hamilton Cardinals. Great pitching and timely hitting resulted in a 11-4 win to put Sarnia into a Championship rematch with Brantford.
Down 5-0 in the 5th inning the team showed no quit scoring 4 runs to bring them within 1 of the Red Sox. Posting 5 runs in the top of the 7th put Sarnia in the lead.
Brantford answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th but it was not enough and Sarnia took the championship game 9-8. The win was a result of a complete team effort all weekend long.
