Why are some umpires wearing those green arm bands????
The armband indicate that the umpire is new and is learning the game.
The idea behind this program is make sure everyone is working together to help our new officials. Everyone is expected to show good sportsmanship and body language/tone when questioning a call.
Umpires deserve a safe work environment as they learn the game. Without these officials we would not be able not be able to enjoy the game of baseball.
