Major Peewee, 2019 (Sarnia Brigade Minor Baseball Association)

The Sarnia Braves Major Peewee team lost in the LDBA Playoff Tournament finals to the London Tecumsehs on Sunday.  The team defeated the London Badgers (14-13), the North London Nationals (11-8) and the Exeter Express (10-0).  A very talented London Tecumseh team handed the Braves their only losses during the tournament (1-11 and 0-12).  The Braves have made the finals in all three tournaments played on Canadian soil this year.

The Sarnia Braves Major Peewee team captured the "A" Bracket of the London Tecumseh Tournament, held July 19-21, with a perfect 5-0 record.  The Braves were sent home Friday night having not played due to torrential rain.  Saturday, in sweltering conditions, the Braves won both games, 11-2 over the Stouffville Yankees and 6-3 over the Ingersoll Ironbirds.  On Sunday, the Braves won all three games, 12-3 over the Windsor Hawks, 15-3 over the Barrie Baycats in the Semi-finals and 7-3 in the Finals over the Dorchester Diamondbacks.

The Sarnia Braves Major Peewee team represented Canada well in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the Silver Series Championships, July 7-9. The team finished in 5th place out of 14 teams, losing in the quarter-finals.  Their 2-2 record was good considering that in the 13U division in the USA, players can turn 14 years old after April 30th.  Our mix of 12 and 13 year old young men enjoyed the competition and the comradery.
